Ultra Suction - Information to dentists and dental laboratories

Ultra Suction™ overall view

A lower denture presses itself up against more movable surfaces in mouth than an upper denture. It is more difficult to hold steadily a lower denture on a jaw.

The lower alveolar ridge is narrow compared to the wide upper palatine surface.
Muscles and strings tend to lift the prothesis.
The lower denture could be an issue for many a person but, thanks to  Ultra Suction™ , fastening problems could be reduced to a minimum.

Why choose Ultra Suction™ ?

Ultra Suction™
offers a good solution for fastening prothesis in the mouth .

Ultra Suction™
adds value when a new dental device is equipped with it or when a prothesis retrimming makes use of it.

Ultra Suction™ allows establishing a continuous connection between a patient and his pratictioner at regular intervals for valve cleaning services.

Ultra Suction™
allows a palatine shortening when an upper denture is equipped with it. Therefore, your patients could feel a distinct improvement in their sense of taste and in their phonetic.

Ultra Suction™ allows a reduction in the adaptation  period in case of a new denture.

Ultra Suction™  technique

Ultra Suction    Ultra Suction

Ultra Suction™ : valves are made of surgical steel category 316. Diaphragms are made of plastic.

Working of Ultra Suction™

Ultra Suction™, a profiled sucking chamber is able to convert the alveolar ridge and thus create and maintain a seal around this area.

Once the denture is in tight closure (firm bite), the gingival tissues seep into the sucking chamber. Air is expelled through the two valves. Diaphragms prevent its reinsertion. The pressure difference, that is the lower pressure underneath the denture, exerts a traction effect and isolates the new ridge alveolar periphery.

From the first attempt to swallow, the vacuum thus created inside the mouth will eliminate air from the sucking chamber. The outcome: a better adjustment to tissues and a better fastening inside the mouth

Generalities on Ultra Suction™

Ultra Suction™ can be assembled only for permanent full dentures, and after the gingival tissues are absolutely set up.

Every denture must be assembled with two  Ultra Suction™ valves on the lingual or palatine sides, between the two premolars or between the canine and the premolar, depending on your dentist, denturologist or prothesist choice.

For the upper denture, you can usually take off the palate, in which case, the patient will have a feeling of user-friendliness.

In certain cases (sensitive patients) it is better to wait until the new alveolar ridge is formed, before taking off the denture palate.

Even in optimum cases with an intact ridge, it is recommended to use Ultra Suction™. In that way we can reduce the adaptation period in case of a new denture (particularly for a lower one).

Flat ridge or bony resorption: allow for six months to let a new alveolar ridge formation, and give chance for a satisfactory preservation level.

Preventive maintenance for Ultra Suction™

DentureBriteAlthough Ultra Suction™ valves work on a simple mechanic principle,  hygiene is their key to success

Patients should clean their dentures with  DentureBrite™ automatic vibratory cleaning and scaling system, for 15 minutes, every day

Patients biannual reminders to
Ultra Suction™ cleaning services

Open the valves over a container filled with water, to avoid loosing the components. Take off the diaphragm and clean the valves inner part and the air passages. Take off the scaling and all the deposits in the sucking chamber and around orifices. Replace the diaphragm and close the valve using the provided wrench.  If you are a full denture holder you certainly feel an ill-fitting in your mouth while you are eating, drinking or speaking. Your denture raises up and moves continuously.

However, even if your denture is perfect, it can never replace your own teeth.
